Fullstack Engineer
We're looking for a fullstack engineer who's genuinely comfortable on both sides of the stack: someone who can model the data, build the API in Node.js, and then make the interface on top of it feel effortless, whether that interface is React or Angular. If you like owning a feature from the schema to the pixel, you'll recognise the job immediately.
Most of what we ship now has AI somewhere in it: an agent that has to be reliable, a retrieval layer that has to be fast, a product surface that has to make a probabilistic system feel predictable to a user. You don't need to have trained a model. You do need the instincts of a strong product engineer and the curiosity to learn what the new tooling changes about how software gets built, because it changes a lot, and it changes monthly.
What will be your responsibilities?
You'll be involved in every stage of a project: sitting in the discovery call where scope gets defined, designing the system, writing the code, and being on the hook when it meets real users. Our teams are small, so there's no layer between you and the decision. Expect to argue for an architecture, ship it, and live with the consequences.
Day to day that means building product features across a React, Next.js, or Angular frontend and a Node.js backend, designing and evolving schemas and APIs, wiring in LLM and agent workflows where they genuinely help, and holding the line on quality through code review and tests. You'll also be in front of clients, explaining a tradeoff, pushing back on a requirement that will hurt them in six months, or walking through what you shipped last week.
As you grow into the role you'll take the lead on scoping and estimating work, mentor engineers earlier in their career, and help set the standards the rest of the team builds against.
This position is made for you, if you:
- Have shipped and maintained production software that other people depended on: not just built it, but kept it alive.
- Think in systems: you can hold the data model, the API, and the UI in your head at once and see where they'll fight each other.
- Debug from first principles instead of guessing, and enjoy the part where the bug turns out to be interesting.
- Write for the person who reads the code next: clear naming, honest comments, small reviewable changes.
- Are comfortable with ambiguity: a client brief is rarely a spec, and turning one into the other is part of the job.
- Communicate directly and well in English, in writing especially. We're remote, so most decisions live in a document or a thread.
- Give and take direct feedback without it becoming personal.
- Have worked in a proper Agile setup and know which of its rituals actually earn their keep.
- Know your way around Git in a team of people who all push every day.
- Stay current: you have opinions about tools that came out this quarter.
Tech skills
- Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript, with real depth in React and Next.js.
- Equal footing in Angular: RxJS, the CLI, and the component and signal patterns of recent versions. Our clients run both frameworks, and you'll switch between them by project.
- Solid HTML and CSS fundamentals, and an eye for when an interface is a few pixels off.
- Solid backend experience in Node.js: API design, background jobs, and integrations that don't fall over. Python is a plus where the AI work lives.
- Confident with SQL and relational modelling (Postgres is our default); comfortable with a document store or vector database when the shape calls for it.
- Practical experience with REST and/or GraphQL, and with the auth, caching, and rate-limiting that surround them.
- Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure: containers, CI/CD, and deploying to AWS, GCP, or Vercel.
- Hands-on with LLM APIs, retrieval, or agent frameworks, or a clear appetite to get there fast.
- Testing that you actually trust: unit where it pays, integration where it matters.
Our projects and stack
Our work spans AI products, fintech, healthcare, logistics, and B2B SaaS, usually as the engineering team a company brings in when something has to be built properly and quickly. Some engagements are a greenfield product; others are AI capability dropped into a system that's been running for a decade.
The default stack is TypeScript end to end: Next.js and React or Angular on the front, depending on the client, and Node.js on the back, with Python wherever the AI and data work lives. Postgres for state, vector stores for retrieval, and the major model providers behind an abstraction we control. Infrastructure runs on AWS, GCP, and Vercel with CI/CD from day one. We tailor per project rather than forcing a template, and we're deliberate about what we adopt: new tooling has to earn its place in a system somebody will maintain for years.
